Today House of Wingz brought a pop-up micro festival to Waterloo Rd a commissioned research project supported by @bpoolcouncil

We spent the day dancing & chatting with local young people about Blackpool, music, the seaside, arts, and culture.

They shared their ideas on how to improve the area and how to boost community spirit.

It was inspiring to hear so many suggestions 😎

One of the most special things about our HAF project is that it’s lead by young adults who were once, not so long ago, those little people full of summer excitement and energy. 👦

@herbrand.uk Ava taught her first lesson back in 2015 when she was just 14 years old, so it was special to have her back in the room a decade later, teaching our summer cohort how to breathe, stretch and meditate through yoga. 🧘🏼‍♀️

We also thank @orson.crane, @juliaczuczwara, @fox_luke, @justshabs, @sheunplugged, Scarlett, Lily, Danit, Jack and Logan for yesterday’s awesome sessions. You guys really are inspiring the next gen 💡

We love to show the kids of Blackpool how many possibilities there are through engaging in art, culture and community. 🧡

The summer is fully booked but we do have a back up waiting list, AND signing up puts you first in line for October half terms project. 🖊️

Our Creative & Artistic Directors Sam & Aish, spoke at the YFX Symposium @sadlerswells_east last week, sharing our organisations story and the mission to bring high-quality training in dance, music & art to Blackpool.
.
We give our young people real ownership of the house, a place to create freely, take risks, and shape an exciting dance culture through honest expression, mutual respect and bespoke support.
.
It was a huge honor to speak among so many inspirational leaders in youth dance including @stackedwonky and @artistryyouthdance and we were truly amazed by Sadlers wells east impressive new venue, which boasts gorgeous studios flooded with natural light and an exciting new theatre space specifically for dance productions.
.
We also caught @nydcompany performance of gravity in the new space, among other national youth companies, and were once again so proud to support @orson.crane @blakeyrainey @n4tahyo- this time joined be HOW resident artist @natasha1gooden who is currently rehearsing an exciting new play @nationaltheatre

Was lovely to see @pollybraden while we were in town and catch up about current and future projects

🎧 A Silent Disco Fantastical Promenade Flashmob! 🎧

Back in January, House of Wingz were commissioned by Move Together Blackpool to find creative ways to get locals moving and what better place than our stunning promenade?
.
We’ve been waiting for the perfect weather to bring the vibes and now it’s time to get outside, soak up the sunshine, and celebrate our gorgeous coastline in true Seaside style!
.
No dance experience needed just enthusiasm!
This is all about keeping fit, having fun, and enjoying the atmosphere with friends, family, and your local community.

🎉 Family-Friendly & Open to Ages 4+
Whether you’re little, big, or somewhere in between everyone is welcome!

♿ We move at a relaxed group pace.
If you have additional mobility requirements, please don’t hesitate to get in touch so we can support you

We’ll be dancing our way between Central Pier and South Pier, wireless headphones on and good vibes turned all the way up!
