We also deliver many community engagement projects. Our aim is to inspire and encourage more people to use creativity and culture to improve their lives.

We deliver Dance and arts in Highfurlong school as part of their enrichment each year. We love working with the students in school, they inspire us and help us continuously push to make dance more accessible in Blackpool

BLACKPOOL DANCERS INDEPENDENTLY BUSK TO RAISE FRUNDS FOR DANCE CHARITY

DREAM- PRESENTED BY THE OLD ELECTRIC, HOUSE OF WINGZ AND BLACKPOOL SCHOOL OF ARTS
We worked in collaboration with tHE old Electric theatre and Blackpool school of arts to produce 'Dream'. This opportunity gave dancers from Blackpool the experience of working collaboratively with other organisations on a text based performance, a new approach for many of Blackpool's young dance artists

We bring in industry professionals to train Blackpool's young dancers. Natasha Gooden has one of the most impressive CV's in the industry touring with Hip Hop dance company's Zoonation and Boy Blue. She is a resident teach at House of wingz, sharing her knowledge and experiences with young dancers in Blackpool

HALF TERM HOLIDAY ACTIVITY AND FOOD PROGRAMME
We began offering the holiday activity and food programme which offers free places to children on free school meals. We deliver many sessions during the HAF, but all projects have a strong dance focus. All children are also provided with a free hot meal

OUR SCHOOL'S PROGRAMME CONTINUES TO GROW WITH MORE PRIMARY SCHOOL'S ADDING DANCE TO THEIR ENRICHMENT
This supports young people in Blackpool having early access to dance, but also helps them to connect with our work, where they can access additional free or subsidised lessons. The school sessions are also a great space for our young leaders to grown and develop their teaching

DANCE CREW QUALIFY FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The crew competed at the UDO street dance qualifiers and qualified for the worlds championships in Blackpool

STORYTRAILS PROJECT
House of wingz were involved in a project called story trails. The project involved our building being scanned by AI technology, which was then added to an exhibition in Blackpool library where people could use headsets and AI technology to explore Blackpool stories.

Our new cohort of youth leaders were assigned and took part in their youth leadership training days. Over the course of the next 3 years they will lead sessions, go on training trips, develop their leadership, and have the opportunity to gain paid roles at House of Wingz

LITEFEET WORKSHOP WITH KIERAN WARNER
Our dancers had started to show an interest in Litefeet, so after attending 'Litefest' in London, we brought the pioneer of the style in the UK to Blackpool to train our students in the foundations

We took a group of young people to see a family friendly vogue ball in Manchester, introducing them to the dance style and the culture and inspiring some of them to explore the style in more depth

We produced and hosted a free festival of dance and music on Blackpool's Grange Park estate. 'Grange Park Life' was a celebration of dance, music, art and connection and over 200 people came together to dance and connect @thegrange

Supporting the development of local rap artist Sophie Aspin, we connected her with Blackpool musician and recording artist Rae Morris, the two recorded and released a new song called 'fish 'n' chips'

A showtown, Leftcoast and House of wingz collaboration, 'Get Dancing was a virtual project launched to connect people during lockdown by searching for inspiration for the creation of a brand new social dance for Blackpool'

GRIME ON GRANGE
We delivered a music project to young people on grange park, connecting them to music artists and producers to help them develop their interests in writing and making music. Over 20 young artists produced at least one original track as a result of this project

During lockdown in 2020, we went virtual. All sessions were delivered via our online platform. We delivered packages to over 300 families in Blackpool to keep them engaged in creative activity whilst at home. the packages were also designed to help people feel connected through online virtual activity

A partnership project with Boy Blue, we produced a piece of dance for the 'Elevate' programme, and performed this at Manchester's Home theatre

We produced a large scale performance called 'strictly come hip Hop, and performed it under the 'Gaia' installation at Blackpool's 'Lightpool festival'

We collaborated with Leftcoast on their artist in residence project in Fleetwood. The artist had made a collection of clothes and dancers from Blackpool were asked to showcase the garments in a street performance
