Blackpool recently welcomed Sport England for a two-day conference at the Winter Gardens and Blackpool Sports Centre, spotlighting the town as a key partner in tackling inactivity through the Move Together Blackpool initiative.
As part of the event, House of Wingz were invited to perform and represent the power of community-driven movement. Over 70 system leaders gathered for a leadership masterclass, panel discussions, and a celebration of collaboration highlighting the positive impact organisations across Blackpool are making to encourage people to move.
We were incredibly proud of the House of Wingz crew, who brought their trademark energy and creativity to the stage. What made the moment even more special was the unexpected request for them to share their personal experiences. One by one, the crew spoke passionately about what being part of House of Wingz means to them- community, dance, movement, sport, and opportunity.

Among those who spoke were Michael, a student who has been active with House of Wingz for over a decade, and Inimfon, one of our dance leaders who is taking the company to another level by introducing Afro and contemporary dance. Their words, alongside the rest of the crew, resonated deeply with everyone in the room, including council members, the Chief Executive of Sport England, and other influential leaders.
It was a powerful reminder that movement is more than just physical activity- it’s about belonging, connection, and creating opportunities for the future. House of Wingz showcased not only their professionalism as young creatives but also their dedication to building a stronger, more active community. Their performance and voices perfectly embodied the spirit of Move Together Blackpool and the transformative role of collaboration in tackling inactivity.
